Ward 101 is dynamic area that has over 10,000 townhouse units and 9 retirement villages. The Ward houses the biggest retirement village in the City of Johannesburg, the Golden Harvest Retirement Village 1 & 2 and the recently opened, the Olivedale Retirement Village that has 580 units. The vibrant community of Ward 101 has a variety of schools, shopping centers, offices and an industrial area that enables the area for the residents to Live, Work and Play.
The Ward houses the Golden Harvest Park, which is approximately 55 hectares that includes some great walks, as well as the opportunity to fish, mountain bike and stroll around the main dam. The community of dedicated volunteers launched the most successful Park Run at the Golden Harvest Park on the 8th of August 2015. The Park Run is regarded as one of the toughest Park Runs in South Africa. The 5KM Park Run sees an average of 500 park runners and park walkers participating every Saturday morning at 8am.
Ward 101 includes Bromhof Ext, Boskruin (Part), Northwold, Northwold Ext, Golden Harvest, Hunters Hill, Sonneglans Ext, Sharonlea, Olivedale, Northriding, Noordhang as well as the industrial area that borders at Epson Avenue across Witkoppen Road from Malibongwe Drive.
